Why JTF?
The world's largest celebration of young people and musical theater
Held each year in Atlanta, GA and Sacramento, CA, the Junior Theater Festival brings together the largest collection of musical theater lovers under one roof. It has hosted the launch of Disney's High School Musical and NBC's SMASH, and it is a weekend of true musical theater mayhem that is not to be missed.
Adjudicated performances
Our troupe performs its piece for professional adjudicators and receives feedback from experts in the field.
Workshops
Hands-on workshops for students build new skills in acting, singing, and dance.
Broadway mainstage
Specially curated mainstage productions featuring Broadway's finest, plus the New Works Showcase and the Freddie G Awards.
Lifelong memories
A weekend surrounded by young performers from across the country who love musical theater as much as they do.
The road to JTF
August
Rehearsals begin
The troupe starts building its 15-minute production piece.
September – November
Rehearse and polish
Weekly rehearsals bring the music, staging, and characters together.
December · Showcase
Perform for guest judges
We perform for an audience and guest judges from our community, then use their feedback to sharpen our piece.

Who can join?
Theatre Troupe is open to students ages 8–18 who are actively enrolled in classes at Arts in Motion, because outstanding performers are built through outstanding training.
Theatre Troupe is a separate program from our Performance Company, though some students take part in both.
